PASIC 2001 - Nashville, Tennessee

The Percussive Arts Society holds an annual convention in various cities and this year it was held in Nashville, Tennessee starting on November 15-17. This event is very educational and exciting for drummers and percussionists because they get to interact and attend clinics by some of the best players in the profession. There are clinics for all type of percussion instruments and styles from marching percussion, orchestral, drum set, ethnic and world percussion (hand drums), and on and on.

I was able to take a couple of young men that I have had the privilege of working with, including my eight-year-old son Taylor. Steven Bombino (6th grade) and Matt Fall (12th grade) were the students that went. We had a blast, and I believe all three of these guys, including myself, got a lot out of it. I highly recommend this convention to drummers of all ages because it is really inspiring and you can learn so much in a short amount of time.

Hopefully I can plan another trip for next year even though it is going to be in Ohio! Below is a link to the homepage of PASIC. Hope you enjoy!
