On Saturday, July 14th my students and several other drummers
and musicians from area churches were treated to a fantastic
drum clinic featuring Will Denton. [ Will

Will is the drummer for one of the most popular musicians
in contemporary Christian music today, Steven Curtis Chapman.
I encourage everyone to follow the link above to Will’s
website to observe his long list of credentials. Will did
just a marvelous job of demonstrating how he plays and develops
parts. He also did an interesting section where he demonstrated
how to read a drum chart on an overhead projector which I
personally thought was very educational. The clinic lasted
for around two hours. He also gave a tremendous testimony
on how God has put him in the right places at the right time
for his career. I had the privilege of spending the rest of
the day with Will after the clinic and let me say that he
is one of the most genuine and sincere individuals I have
ever met. We had a great time of sharing idea’s, mostly
his, and just jamming with tracks for most of the afternoon.
Again, a big thanks to Mr. Will Denton for a day that we will
all remember for long time!
